Local agency hands their ‘legacy baton’ over to another local team after 50 years in business

Newcastle, NSW, October 2024 – Locally owned real estate agency acquires Maitland based agency as it continues to grow its market share in the Hunter Region.

Starting just five years ago, Commercial Collective now holds a strong share of the commercial real estate market in the Newcastle and Hunter Region. The acquisition of Starr Partners Maitland (formerly Tony Cant Real Estate) took place in October this year, further enhancing Commercial Collective’s specialised services across the Region.

The acquisition of Starr Partners Maitland came organically after a long relationship with previous owner Andrew Cant who took the Managing Director position on from his father Tony Cant in 2000.  “This is a multi-generational business, so when Andrew let us know of his plans to sell the business, we were excited to facilitate the transition of his clients to our business, knowing that his reputation was strong, it was important that his clients were treated with the same professionalism and care by another local company” said Dane Crawford, CEO and Co-Founder of Commercial Collective.
